Most offices and places of business have a reception area. This is the place that visitors will first step into when they come into your business and it is an important place to get right to create a good first impression. Many companies will often make the mistake of overlooking the importance of a good reception area.

One of the first things to think about when you are creating a reception area, is who your audience are. For example, do you expect that you will have a lot of people waiting in reception at a time? If this is the case, you will want to provide plenty of comfortable seating – you can shop reception chairs here.

If you are going to be expecting children to be attending, make sure you provide some games or toys for them to play with as they are waiting. If your business is aimed especially at children, then you may want to create a fun reception area, full of bright colours to appeal to children as well as providing activities.

If the reception area also serves as a retail area, then you will need to consider how you balance the seating area with the display of the products on offer for sale. As well as this, it is important to consider the security aspect of having products in the reception area, and cameras aimed at the displays would be a good idea.
